Celebrate Christmas – Celebrate Life

December 25, 2016 is here and I am so blessed to see the day! Christmas is always a time of celebration for our family, but we are never ignorant to the fact that there are many who are sad and grieving.

As a child I looked forward to waking up and enjoying homemade eggnog and homemade chocolate!  This was my early introduction to “organic” cooking – I had no idea how these early memories would influence my present views towards food and health (more on this later).  What are some of your favourite memories?

For our family, it has been a very very busy and eventful year. I have not been very “present” on the website for many reasons.  One, I have been wearing several “hats” in my life.  In particular, as the Interim youth pastor at my home church, Peel Pentecostal, I have been pouring into the youth and have loved the journey.  This took courage and commitment and I jumped in with both feet.  I had a team of youth leaders who were very encouraging and most of all my husband and amazing children continually supported me.  I am truly blessed to have them and deeply grateful.

I remember writing a song called Dare to Dream years before it became a common statement. This thought has been resurfacing in my heart and I am dreaming again as we look forward to 2017.

Our children continue in their post secondary education and while they are studying in the GTA we are not “empty nesters” yet.

Ministry-wise, we have closed our post office box seeing the increase in email for communication and less “snail mail”. Both Wayne and I have been very active in our home church so music ministry externally was limited – that will change for me in the new year.

I have continued to take courses while we have moved into country living but have adjusted fairly well.  I have been presented with yet another health challenge, but it has only motivated me to keep moving forward.  I have several goals for 2017 including continuing my training in coaching and maintaing fitness goals.  Keep an eye on my posts in 2017.  Much prayer will be required from all of us to stay focussed at all costs.

As I said weekly to my youth – you were born for purpose.  Never forget this! Don’t get distracted by the non-essentials.  Keep moving forward!

Blessings!
