I was on time – I really was. I will boast that probably one of the historical weddings you would have attended was ours. Of course, Wayne was waiting for me! That’s fashionable, right?
Well, we were graced with a hot summer day and on Saturday, June 17 I arrived in the limo to Revivaltime Tabernacle to commit my love and life to a man who did his due diligence in seeking me out, researching who I was (some might call it “stalking” today) and then getting my phone number without asking me directly.
Three years later we were committing our hearts and lives to each other to a song we wrote, sang, and had playing overhead as I walked down the aisle:
You are my heart’s desire
You are my heart’s desire
You are my heart’s desire
My sweetheart my best friend
I’ll love you till the end
You are my heart’s desire
He truly is one of a kind and my heart’s desire. Though both of us are flawed and imperfect, I would not trade our 31 years for anything. We both promised
Take you to be my lawfully wedded
To have and to hold from this day forward
To love and to cherish
In sickness and in health
From this day forward 31 and Counting
‘Til death do us part
Yeah, we really said those things.
I looked up the meaning of 31 and read:
The 31 is a number that encourages strength and leadership;
Also, people who are influenced by this number are
hard workers and fighters.
So if this means we are going to be stronger leaders, because we really do work hard and fight… it’s going to continue to be quite a year.
