For The Month of November | Reflection

We planned, the music was charted, we rehearsed, set the date, booked the resources and had the concert.  If you have ever looked forward to your graduation, a birthday, a wedding, a very special day and then before you know it, it not only comes but it goes in what seems like a flash., this is how it felt for me.

My wonderful husband of 24 years and my no. 1 fan gets a standing ovation for his unwavering commitment to see this event happen.  My producer, Joy Brown (a.k.a. “Joyful”) who believed in me and this project from the start deserves much thanks and applause. Some of  you may know her as one of the music directors for Toronto Mass Choir (Toronto’s premiere gospel choir who have just celebrated 25 years of ministry) and the founder of Joseph’s Harp (a non profit music foundation to assist young people with music education).  She has been a friend and creative force taking my ideas and thoughts and bringing them together to create the musical production put on Nov. 2.  I cannot say enough about my children in particular my daughter Raquel who has walked side by side carrying out the media and marketing aspect of the concert.  The incredible power of unity when there is agreement cannot be explained.  We worked with a team of gentleman who I have considered brothers as they have known me for more than a decade, some for two.  This team of support helped to not only advise but keep us accountable and focussed on the tasks at hand.

Whenever you step out in uncharted waters is always good to connect with those who have gone before you.  It is a recipe for failure for anyone to think they can do anything “all by themselves”  Yes all things are possible to those who believe, however, belief along with people who believe in and with you will make the dream that much more a reality!  I still have more to say on the project …

Until then…

Blessings!
