The day I was born

The day I was born, the sun was shining.
The day I was born, my Mom was busy doing housework.
The day I was born, there was a celebration.
A baby girl was born to make an impact in the world – the day I was born!

It’s August 7, and I am celebrating with a grateful heart to see this day. You see, I didn’t have to be here. I didn’t have to be alive. Yet God, my Creator saw it fit to have me walk through fire, pain and tears so I could be here to express thanks and gratefulness for life.

I don’t look for gifts because the gifts I most treasure are all around me: my husband, children, Mom, brothers and extended family – all with whom I have a relationship with. My brothers and sisters-in-love, along with nieces, nephews, church family and audiences who have connected with me like you reading this.

When I met my husband, I told him it doesn’t take a lot to make me happy. We would often joke saying “I’m not high maintenance” as one might say, but I do like “nice”, and I’m definitely a foodie!

One of my favourite verses in the Bible is Psalm 28:7:

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:
Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
And with my song will I praise him.

When I sing, I’m praising Him! For all He’s done and all He’s going to do. I know not everyone believes in God or has the faith that I have. However, for me today and every day, I have the opportunity to express my thanks and gratefulness in the song I’ll sing from the depths of my heart because I’m grateful.

Today is the day I was born, and I’m still here! I’m gonna celebrate!!

Blessings!
